The course

What The Pearl - West/East plays like.

Designed by Dan Maples and opened in 1987, this course is known for its scenic views of the Calabash River and surrounding marshlands. The layout features wide fairways bordered by mature pines and strategically placed bunkers. Notable holes include the par 5 16th, which challenges players with a leftward dogleg and water hazards. The course is well suited for golfers who appreciate a mix of natural beauty and strategic play.

Reviews

3.99 out of 5 from 280 golfers.

Left by people who booked this tee time through us and played it.

OK track, decent condition. Cart paths need work. Food and bev not so good; long waits due probably to lack of staff, which is a problem everywhere. No on course beverage service, also probably due to staffing.

James, Alexandria

Very good course and staff.

Paul, Fredericksburg

Having played here before I was excited to get back on the links. The staff, starters, greeters were amazing. The course is in great shape and brought out some good competition amongst our group.

william, alexandria

great course

ERROL, TOLEDO

Great links golf. Challenging without being unplayable for high handicappers.

Ernest, Escondido

Good shape but the cart paths are extremely rough

Larry, Shepherdsville

Was ok , not great

Wayne, Germantown

Awesome course. Great condition and cool layout. Only reason it doesn’t get a 5 is because of Crow Creek.

Tim, Bend

This course is a 2 Simply because of the welcome/starting staff. I would not got back here again but they are the bright side of and when you play there.

Michael, Holtsville

Too many pin placements on steep slope of greens

Ronald, Alpine

Great layout and fun courses.

Ryan, Herriman

Excellent condition. Nice layout. Not forgiving.

Jonathan, Waynesboro

The weather was terrible when we played, so only got in 9 holes. They gave us a rain check and a tee time for the next day. Beautiful course

Andrea, Charlotte

Great Golf course. Really has improved in the last year. We played this outing as our captains choice course.

Samuel, Stanley

about 40 minutes behind on tee times, at the turn was not even able to grab a snack or go to restroom... was rushed to #10 without a stop due to course being backed up... attendant/starter at turn was exceptionally rude. concession cart reached us between hole #1 &#2 then did not see her again until tee box on #17.

Lyle , Winston Salem

Great course for our (mid) level of play and def worth the extra miles to NC.

Eduardo, Lancaster

Extra balls needed. Fun to play

Chris, Walled lake

Enjoyed playing here but the course needs a few more signs to clarify directions to the next hole in some cases. C

James, Suffolk

Overall poor course conditions. Also the starter would not allow our 3rd foursome to play same 18 as the other two. We will not be playing this course in the future.

Jeff, WINFIELD

Great course. Well maintained. Greens were in excellent shape.

Rick, Louisville

Par 5's even on white tees should be considered Par 6's....lol super long at 525-575, wow...but course was in great shape, with beautiful layout!

Brian, Richmond

Course was great

Martin, Lancaster

Bland, nothing real exciting here.

Robby, Colfax

Great course! Interesting layout.

Brice, Rome

good overall course

John, Perkasie

Awesome place. Was able to play all 27 holes.

Brett, Westfield

GOOD TRACK FOR OUR FIRST DAY

William , South Windsor

Good condition, enjoyed playing there

John, Canonsburg

Course was in great shape. We very much enjoyed our round. Bag drop staff could use some manners.

Bryon, Rose

Got a lot of bug bites, but the course was nice

Dave, delaware

Liked the layout. Like the other courses. No rain.

Greg, Allen park

We played the East and West courses. The course itself was beautiful and was in tremendous shape considering the time of year. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful letting us know where to go for the courses. The photo package on the first tee was such a great idea as well.

Josh, Phoenixville

Great conditions and layout. Beautiful location.

Cal, Bath

Great welcome by the bag drop guys. Rough start with all the fungicide on the greens. We really did not like that.

Kirt, Eldridge

Very nice course and great greens.

Frank, Hersehy

needs a face-lift and some serious upgrades.

Caleb, Pineville

good conditions. west was definitely nicest layout

Tim, Mechanicsburg

only played 9 holes due to bad weather - we were paired with two people who have likely only played once or twice in their life - so very slow. We stopped after 9 due to slow play and weather - not an enjoyable morning.

Randy, Westerville

Staff was great. Adjusted our time to avoid storm. Friendly and appreciated business

Drew, Philadelphia

Fairways and greens were in good shape

Mark, Reidsville

Weirdest greens ever.

Kwang, Chantilly

All courses were very good and we enjoyed them all

Gary, Menominee

Great coarse

Gary, Menominee

Again, showing the age

Mike, Bethlehem

All coarses were different and challenging for us. It was a good selection and the location was easy and fast to get to. Every place had our tee time and easy check in. Well done!

Gary, Menominee

I recommend playing.

Jeff, Frostburg

Great course, but jammed with retirees. Played first nine in 1.5 hours, but then hit the wall and were 2.5 hours plus for the remaining nines.

Eric, Centreville

Needs a little love and care with the drainage issues

Keith, Ellicott City

We received a rain check for the course due to rain. The other members of the group played the course Friday and said it was the best all week.

Matt, Marshallville

Nice course. Fairway grass was hard to come by, like hitting off of mud. Hard to rate as it was cart path only, still very wet, but greens ok.

Robert, Aiken

The Pearl is becoming one of our favorites. The course is always in great shape and people are fantastic.

William, Chesapeake

Enjoyed the course the sentry was nice

Michael, Phoenix

Course was challenging and the greens rolled well

Jay, Saline

Very wet did not drain well. Lot of rain though!! I would like to play something else. Did not like how they broke up the East course is kind of goofey with a 5,3,3,5,3 the #9 hole on the East course won of the greatest finishing holes:)

Charles, Clarksburg

Liked it. First time playing.

John, Iselin

I loved the layout of the course. The staff was very friendly.

Kerry, Manheim

Course was wet but had a really nice layout

Zachary, Palmyra

Nice course, staff very nice

Lynn, Staunton

This is an absolutely beautiful course that is well maintained. Greens roll very true. Definitely top 5 for the area!

Jeremy, Wilmington

Great condition as usual.

Michael, Waupun

Course conditions were great & the views were fantastic. Will definitely play it again.

NOAH, Newport News

A little above the course we played that morning.

Scott, Virginia Beach

Cart path only but we still loved the East and West courses. Our favorite of the week.

David, Beaufort

Not in great shape

Thomas, Canonsburg

Poor shape and staff wasn’t all the good.

Rich, Charlotte

Not wide open and too many woods

David, Charotte

Pretty good shape....tee boxes a little beat up

Anthony, Concord

Course was good but got unlucky with the over-seeding and all tees were together at the back of one tee box except ladies. Would it have made sense to have some at the front tee boxes.

Steven, Gahanna

concessions were very high. $8 for a hot dog when other courses were $4. good greens

Dean, Alexandria

It was also a good course. No complaints about the course

Howard, Concord

Beat up and a lot of Mosquitos

Robert, Waxhaw

best of the bunch!

Steven, BARTLETT

Interesting layouts, good condition. WOuld not play again, mosquito's were out of control and biggest issue, Course has not been rated since re-formation of 3 nines so you can not post your scores.

Jay, Lutz

Very friendly staff. Least manicured course we played, but it had rained a bunch the night before. None of our guys cared much for the layout.

Richie, Slidell

A lot of mosquitos!

Barbara, Kernersville

Course conditions were fine. The staff were extremely nice. It was a very relaxed environment and perfect for our format and group.

Dan, Asheville

Would play the course again.

Jude, North Charleston

Nice course.

Nicholas, Charlotte

Each 9 holes plays a little differently. Overall good condition and fun course.

Christopher, BROOKLINE

Great courses and again, proximity excellent.

Thomas, Mt. Union

Great track - well taken care of.

bob, Oak Island

The Pearl is a solid go to.

Alec, Uniontown

Best weather day

Joel, Bowie

Bugs were horrible. They should treat the course and supply repellent. Will not go back for that reason. Played a course up the road day after with no issues. They have a problem

Chad, Emerald Isle

Great layout and very good course conditions overall. A few holes looked like they had some tee issues and bad fairways, but overall a very nice course. Worst mosquitoes I have ever encountered. Golf staff and kitchen staff/service were average. Would play again for sure. Ranked 4th best of 6 courses we played.

Timothy, Wyoming

Extremely nice staff, beautiful course in great shape, and a fun 27 to play.

Chris, Haymarket

The Pearl was also in very good shape and pace of play was great!

Richard, Pittsburgh

More like a 3.5 . Course was nice but still seemed burnt out a little.

Thomas E, Sewickley

Very nice layout on the East side (I think)...the one with the par 5 over water on the third shot.

Francesco, Kanata
